The rotary kiln, that is, the rotary calcining kiln, belongs to the category of building materials equipment. According to the differences in the materials to be processed, the rotary kiln can be clearly divided into cement kilns, metallurgical chemical kilns, and lime kilns.

Cement kilns are mainly responsible for the calcination of cement clinkers and are further subdivided into two major types: dry-process cement kilns and wet-process cement kilns. In the metallurgical industry, metallurgical chemical kilns have a wide range of applications. For example, steel plants use them to carry out magnetization roasting of lean iron ores; conduct oxidation roasting of chromium and nickel iron ores; refractory material factories utilize them to roast high-alumina bauxite; and aluminum plants use them to roast clinker aluminum hydroxide. In the chemical field, chemical plants use rotary kilns to roast minerals such as chromite ore and chromite ore powder and the like. The lime rotary kiln is mainly used for the roasting operation of active lime and lightly burned dolomite required by steel plants and ferroalloy plants.
