Medium carbon alloy steel: such as 40Cr, 42CrMo, etc., has high strength, toughness and wear resistance. After appropriate heat treatment, it can obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties, suitable for double helical gears with large loads, such as heavy machinery, metallurgical equipment and other fields.
Carburizing steel: 20CrMnTi is a typical carburizing steel. After carburizing and quenching treatment, the gear surface has high hardness and high wear resistance, while the core maintains good toughness and can withstand impact loads. It is often used in occasions with high requirements for gear performance in industries such as automobiles and machine tools.
Cast iron: including gray cast iron and ductile iron. Gray cast iron has good casting performance, shock absorption and wear resistance, and is often used for some low-speed and light-load double helical gears with low requirements for precision and load. The mechanical properties of ductile iron are better than those of gray cast iron. It has higher strength and toughness. It can be used to replace part of medium carbon steel to manufacture gears and is widely used in some general machinery.
